The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has announced that the hunger crisis in Afghanistan has had a devastating impact on children.
“In 2023, around 875,000 children in Afghanistan are still expected to suffer from severe wasting,” UNICEF tweeted on Tuesday (December 6th).
“We ne ed urgent support to help treat these children next year and prevent malnutrition before it takes hold,” the UNICEF statement reads.
It should be noted that recently the UN-affiliated agencies have warned of an imminent rise in the poverty and hunger crisis, especially in the coming winter in Afghanistan.
