Local sources in Herat have reported that a man in the province has killed his wife and another man due to their alleged relationship.
The incident took place on Wednesday, May 24, in the Ghoryan district of Herat province.
The individual has accused his wife and the other man of engaging in an “illicit” relationship, which led to this tragic outcome.
No further details regarding the identity of the suspect and the victims are currently available.
Taliban security officials in Herat province have not made any statements regarding this matter thus far.
Honour killings are not unprecedented in the country. Previously, in Badghis province, a man had also murdered his wife and another man due to an alleged “illicit relationship.”
