DAB Revokes Individual Currency Exchange Licenses
Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) under the management of Taliban announced that all individual licenses for currency exchanges have been revoked by the bank based on new conditions set forth in regulations.
On Tuesday, DAB tweeted that it had issued licenses to 876 individual currency exchanges and financial service providers over the past year.
The bank added that this regulation was implemented to regulate affairs, ensure transparency in performance, monitor non-bank financial institutions, particularly currency exchanges, and financial service providers, and bring them in line with necessary contemporary standards.
It is worth noting that with the adjustment of this regulation, a large number of currency exchange operators have become unemployed, and Taliban will gain more control over the currency market.
