Local sources in Khost and Paktika provinces have reported heavy rainfall, strong winds, and floods in these regions.
Sources from Khost province state that on Sunday, May 28, hundreds of acres of agricultural land, primarily wheat crops, have been destroyed, and several head of livestock have been swept away by the floods in the center and districts of Musakhel and Bak due to heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding.
Furthermore, sources have confirmed that a man in the center of this province lost his life when his vehicle became trapped in the flood.
Meanwhile, sources have also confirmed that strong winds and rain showers in the Omana district of Paktika province have caused damage to several residential houses.
According to the sources, the roofs of several houses in this district have collapsed, but there have been no reported casualties.
This comes as the Taliban-controlled Meteorological Department has announced the possibility of severe rainfall and immediate floods in 19 provinces across the country.
