Local sources in Paktika province have reported that a doctor was killed in the district of Mata Khan.
Sources reported on Monday, May 14th, that the incident occurred the previous night at a health center in the village of Karso.
The doctor, a resident of Laghman, was on duty at the health center at the time of the attack.
The Taliban in Paktika has confirmed the news and stated that they have arrested a resident of Jaghori district in Ghazni province in connection with the incident. However, the reasons and motive for the attack remain unclear.
This incident comes at a time when residents of Paktika province have been complaining about the increase in crime over the past month.
