Dozens Killed and Wounded in Pakistan Mosque Blast

Dozens of people have been killed and injured following a blast in a mosque in Peshawar.

A suicide bomber struck on Monday inside a mosque in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, reportedly killing at least 20 people and wounding scores more, according to international media outlets.

Geo News Pakistan reported that the suicide attacker was present in the front row during the prayers when he exploded himself, injuring dozens of faithful offering Zohr prayers.

The exact casualty toll was not immediately determined, considering that the condition of some victims were reported to be critical.

However, “death toll in Peshawar mosque suicide blast rises to 25, at least 120 injured,” the latest reports indicated.

The blast takes place as Muhammad Taqi Osmani, a prominent Pakistani cleric, had recently announced that the war against the country’s government, from an Islamic viewpoint, was impermissible.
