Local sources in the province of Herat have confirmed the death of two individuals and injuries to 117 people following a recent seismic event measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake occurred at 5:11 AM on Wednesday, October 11th, at a depth of nine kilometers in the Herat region.
Sources speaking to Hasht-e Subh have verified that most of the victims of the recent earthquake are residents of the central district and the districts of Enjil and Guzara in Herat.
According to these sources, more than a thousand residential houses in the districts of Koshk, Robat-e-Sangi, Golran, and Enjil have been destroyed due to this natural disaster.
Furthermore, over two thousand sheep have perished as a result of this event.
This earthquake took place while a seismic event of similar magnitude shook the Zinda-Jan district and several other districts of Herat earlier this week, resulting in thousands of casualties and injuries.
