Explosion at Drug Manufacturing Facility in Ghor Province Injures Four

Local sources in Ghor have reported an explosion and fire at a drug manufacturing facility in the province, resulting in injuries to four individuals.

On Monday, September 18, sources informed Hasht-e Subh about an explosion and subsequent fire that occurred at a glass-type drug manufacturing facility in the Pasaband district of Ghor province. This incident led to injuries sustained by four individuals.

According to these sources, the injured individuals are residents of both Ghor and Helmand provinces.

Reports indicate that Ghor serves as a significant hub for the production of narcotics, particularly from the yam plant, with numerous active facilities in the province.

Just a few days ago, the Taliban had set fire to several residences in Ghor province, alleging the collection of the yam plant and the destruction of their motorcycles. However, Ghor residents claim that Taliban fighters obstruct the locals while they themselves engage in collecting this plant.

The yam plant is a mountainous herb predominantly found in the Ghor mountainous province.

After processing in drug manufacturing facilities, this plant is used to produce a glass-like substance.
