
Fire Engulfs Girls’ School Building in Faryab Province
Local sources report a fire in a girls’ school building in Faryab province.
The fire occurred at around 8:00 pm on Saturday, in the building of the “Kala Khanah” girls’ high school in Andkhoy district.
Sources told Hasht-e Subh that as a result of the fire, eight classrooms in the school were completely burned.
Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
Although the cause of the fire is not clear yet, individuals affiliated with Taliban were previously accused of destroying a girls’ school building in the “Firozkoh-Nakhchir” district of Samangan province.
In another suspicious incident last week, an explosive device was detonated inside a classroom of a girls’ school in the Qosh Tepa district of Jawzjan province by unidentified armed individuals. As a result of the explosion, at least 13 female students were killed or injured.
