A former member of the Afghanistan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) was kidnapped by armed men in Afghanistan’s northern Samangan province.
He was kidnapped three days ago by armed men in Aybak, Samangan’s capital city, his relatives told Hasht-e Subh on Saturday.
The former soldier was identified as Zia-ul-Haq. He had reportedly served in the ranks of popular uprising forces, also known as local police, in Samangan. However, he continued his normal life and turned to manual jobs after the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan.
The Taliban in Samangan have denied involvement in his abduction.
Two former ANDSF members were killed in a heinous way in Jawzjan Province two days ago, according to reports.
