Armed men killed a member of former local police forces in the Gosfandi district of Sar-e-Pul province.
Local sources on Sunday identified the victim as Nuruddin, adding that gunmen shot him dead near his house last night.
According to sources, Nuruddin served in the ranks of the local police during the former republic regime, but after the Taliban’s rise, he turned to manual jobs and has not had any affiliation with any armed groups.
On the other hand, the spokespersons of the Taliban Police Command for Sar-e-Pul province, confirmed this incident, saying that two people were arrested on suspicion of murdering Nuruddin with four Kalashnikov rifles, one light machine gun and one Kalakov rifle.
The Taliban in Sar-e-Pul said that the motive behind this murder is not clear determined, but an investigation is underway.
