Maulana Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and the Head of the All Pakistan Ulema Council, claims that “a considerable number of Afghan citizens have been involved in recent terrorist activities in Pakistan.”
Ashrafi made these statements on Sunday, November 19, in an exclusive interview with the Associated Press of Pakistan.
Advocating for the expulsion of undocumented Afghan immigrants from Pakistan, he stated that this initiative has been implemented to ensure the security of Pakistan.
He added that Pakistan has communication with the Afghan Taliban, and currently, a delegation from this group is in talks with Pakistani authorities.
It is worth mentioning that in early October, Pakistan set a deadline of November 1 for over 1.73 million undocumented migrants and refugees from Afghanistan to leave the country, or they would face expulsion.
After the end of this deadline, the Pakistani police began detaining and expelling “illegal” migrants and refugees, and according to the United Nations report, thousands enter Afghanistan daily.
