Local Taliban officials in Helmand have reported that a man has murdered his wife with a cleaver.
The incident took place on Friday night, May 19, in the Shabaruz village of Musa Qala district in Helmand.
Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Reyaz, the vice director of the Taliban’s Information and Culture Department in Helmand, has confirmed the event.
The woman was killed by her husband due to family disputes, according to Reyaz.
Reyaz added that the perpetrator of this crime has been detained by the Taliban.
Instances of violence against women have been increasing in various provinces of the country recently.
Just two days ago, a woman was also murdered by her husband in the Momand Dara district of Nangarhar province, allegedly due to family disputes.
