Iran-Tajikistan Cooperation Consolidates Regional Stability, Reiterates Tajik FM
In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Tajikistan said that cooperation between the two countries is effective in consolidating stability in the region.
Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a newsletter issued on Tuesday, January 25, that this meeting was held on the sidelines of the meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Council of foreign ministers in Tashkent.
Tajik Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Mehredin, said that Iran and Tajikistan have mutual stances toward terrorist threats, drug trafficking and other organized crimes in the region.
Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, has also explained technical services exports, Iranian firms investments in Tajikistan, and cooperation in energy investments as suitable platforms for the expansion of commercial and economic ties between the two nations.
Tajik officials have also expressed hope to host Ebrahim Raisi, the president of Iran, in their country this year.
