Man Commits Suicide in Nangarhar Due to Economic Difficulties

According to local sources in Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan, a man has committed suicide in this province. Local sources told Hasht-e Subh that the man, Rahimdad, ended his life by shooting himself on Tuesday, May 2, in the Moman Dara district of Nangarhar province.

It is reported that the 55-year-old Rahimdad committed suicide due to economic difficulties. However, Abdul Basir Zabuli, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s security command in Nangarhar, claimed that Rahimdad took his own life due to mental health issues.

This comes after another young man also committed suicide in the Spin-Ghar district of Nangarhar province this week, reportedly due to economic hardships.

Following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan and the worsening economic crisis, suicide incidents have surged unprecedentedly.
