Local sources have reported a tragic incident in Faryab Province, where two shepherds lost their lives in a mine explosion caused by unexploded ordnance from previous years.

According to sources, the incident took place on Monday, September 25th, at approximately 5:00 PM in the village of Golbayan, situated within the Garzewan district of Faryab province.

It has been disclosed that the two shepherds were tending to their livestock when they unexpectedly stumbled upon an unexploded mine on their way back home, resulting in the unfortunate loss of their lives.

As of now, local authorities in Faryab, under the governance of the Taliban, have not issued any official statements regarding this incident.

This tragic occurrence follows a similar incident that took place just one month ago in the Dawlat-Abad district of Faryab province, where two children lost their lives in a grenade explosion.

The persistence of unexploded mines from previous years continues to pose a grave threat to the lives of innocent citizens across various regions of the country.
