Local sources in Bamiyan report that a fourteen-year-old teenager was killed by unknown individuals in this province.
The teenager, named Shamsul-Haq, was shot and killed at 9:00 pm on Saturday night, 1 April, in the village of Bayani in the Saighan district of Bamiyan.
Abdul Saboor Farzan Saighani, the Taliban spokesman in Bamyan, confirmed the event and said that Mullah Abdullah Sarhadi, the Taliban governor, went to the Bayani village to sympathize with Shamsul-Haq’s family and promised to identify and punish the perpetrators of his murder.
About 40 days ago, the bodies of three young men who had been shot were found in a valley near the Kotal-e Dandan-shekan area on the border between the Saighan and Kahmard districts of Bamyan. The victims, including two brothers named Mohammad Asef, Mohammad Ghani, and Abdul Karim, were residents of the Khoshk-Darah village in Saighan district and had been missing for a week.
Local Taliban officials in Bamiyan also promised the families of these young men to identify and punish the perpetrators of their murder, but so far, they have not kept their promise.
