
Operation in Shah and Arus Dam Has Started in Shakardara District of Kabul
8 Subh; Kabul: the National Water Regulation Authority has announced that after nearly ten years, the construction process of the “Shah and Arus” dam has been completed and this dam will be put into operation soon.
According to the National Water Regulation Authority, Shah and Arus dam has started to store water.
The dam has a capacity of 1.2 megawatts of electricity and can also irrigate 2.700 hectares of land.
According to the Authority the Shah and Arus dam will regulate 33 million cubic meters of water per years and will also store nine million cubic meters of water. The total cost of building the Shah and Arus dam is estimated at about 52 million dollar, paid from the government budget.
