Unidentified gunmen abducted the owner of a manufacturing company in Mazar-i-Sharif city, Afghanistan’s northern Balkh province.
On Wednesday morning, Haji Nabiullah, the owner of Silo-e-Salamat flour production company and a Balkh merchant, was reportedly abducted according to reliable local sources who informed Hasht-e Subh.
The armed men stopped Haji Nabiullah’s car, took him out and abducted him to an unknown location, as per sources.
The Taliban in Balkh have acknowledged the abduction of Haji Nabiullah and have declared the commencement of investigations into the matter.
Following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, the number of kidnappings in Balkh has risen. According to Hasht-e Subh‘s investigation, 13 merchants have been abducted in the province within the past two months.
