In the past two decades, all non-Taliban forces said a farewell to arms, turning to live a more civilized lifestyle. The right to possess and use weapons was assigned to the government. Therefore, all those who wanted to play an effective role in shaping the future of Afghanistan were content to be active in the fields of media, education, research, and civil activities.
They neglected the significance of one more thing: organization. However, hundreds of political and social organizations were formed and reportedly 74 political parties were registered in the Ministry of Justice. But in practice, party formation and organizing forces were forgotten. Therefore, when the government was swept away by the Doha agreement, the field remained surprisingly pleasant for the Taliban. Tens of thousands of soldiers, millions of educated, civilly active, non-Taliban and pro-democracy forces had no choice but to surrender to a small group of the most primitive people of our age.
We remember that compared to other social forces, the Taliban had little opportunity to propagate their programs. They were busy chanting medieval slogans and feeding on the poverty, homelessness and oppression of the people. The Taliban did not reach this place as a result of honesty, recognition and awareness, but alienation and ignorance are evident from every step and action of the Taliban members. And the vast majority of the city dwellers and a large part of the rural dwellers are still stunned when facing the Taliban and do not see anything in common between them and Taliban members.
The Taliban have reached this point by using guns and organizing their forces, and they have been taken seriously in regional and global equations due to their superiority in fear-mongering and organizational behavior and action. There is no doubt that such a success is not sustainable and that group will eventually be disgraced in its efforts to suppress millions of people who love to live a free and civilized lifestyle. The Taliban will lose the war over time and will be lost in the shadow of their ignorance.
However, truth and awareness are not enough. It is true that our people have the right to work and access to education, but to build a government in which these rights are guaranteed, justice is not enough, and the fact that thousands of educated people and non-Taliban politicians have a more objective understanding of society, the rules and principles of creating a democratic and constructive government they know about the history and culture of their people, they believe in dialogue and tolerance is not enough to win the political arena against the ignorant forces of the Taliban. Awareness and recognition must be converted into action. Getting rid of a terrorist organization that is decivilizing the country requires political action, and this action is not possible without organizing social forces. Freedom seekers and patriots should be reorganized to take serious political steps.
