Taliban are ready to form an inclusive government, not an elective one

Kabul – Taliban officials in response to the sanctions imposed by the international community for not forming an inclusive government in Afghanistan have said that they are ready to form an inclusive government.

On Saturday, October 9, Suhail Shahin, has stated to Aljazeera that members of ethnic minorities in the announced cabinet are included, and the women will be added too.

“Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is ready to form an inclusive government, but not an elective one,” said Suhail Shahin.

“The international community must respect the demands of the people of Afghanistan,” Shahin stated.

According to Suhail Shahin, the Taliban are looking for international recognition.

The international community, however, says the Taliban government will not be recognized unless they observe and implement their promises towards minorities, women, and girls’ rights.
