Taliban Claim that the US Violated Afghan Air Sovereignty

8am, Kabul: The Taliban said in a statement that the US has violated Afghan sovereignty and international law. The Taliban has warned of the consequences if the United States does not suspend drones over Afghan airspace.

A Taliban statement issued on Tuesday (September 28) said that all governments, including the Taliban government, can protect their sovereignty under international law. The Taliban, in the meantime, said the United States had violated Afghan airspace, international law and its commitment to the group in Doha.

According to the Taliban, the US drones flight over Afghan airspace is a violation of the Doha Agreement, adding that it should be prevented.

The Taliban have called on all countries, especially the United States, to deal appropriately with the Taliban government to avoid the imminent consequences of violating these laws.

Earlier, US military officials said they would not seek permission from the Taliban in attacking terrorist groups, including the Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISKP).
