Civilians being held in Taliban custody in Panjshir were reportedly tortured during interrogation.
A reliable source among Taliban intelligence forces told Hasht-e Subh on Sunday, January 29, that prisoners are tortured mostly in district prisons in Panjshir.
According to the source, the Taliban have severely tortured some of the locals who were being kept in Rukha district prison.
The source clarified that the health conditions of numerous people in Taliban custody were critical.
The Taliban have not yet said anything about these allegations. The Taliban have arrested five people, including a teacher and an athlete, in different parts of Panjshir province in the last week, and no details were available on the detainees’ conditions and whereabouts.
