Sources in Panjshir province have confirmed that Taliban forces continue to detain civilians and affiliates of the former regime on various charges.
Sources told Hasht-e Subh on Monday (June 13th) that the Taliban had arrested three soldiers of the former government in the Mala and Astana villages in central Panjshir over the past week.
Sources say the Taliban have taken the men to unknown locations.
For almost two months now, the Taliban has been gathering its reserved troops from other provinces and deploying dozens of military units to Panjshir to counter the National Resistance Front (NRF). Taliban forces have unlawfully detained, tortured and killed civilians on charges of association with the NRF, indicating that Taliban forces have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity.
