Taliban Release Three Female Protester in Kabul on Bail
Sources report that Taliban has released three members of the Afghan Women’s Justice Movement on bail with the assistance of national elders.
According to informed sources cited by Hasht-e-Subh on Tuesday, Taliban released Rokhshana Saeedi, Malali Hashemi, and Fatemeh Mohammadi, three members of the Afghan Women’s Justice Movement, on bail.
The sources added that the three women are currently not allowed to speak to the media.
It should be noted that the Taliban arrested these three members of the Afghan Women’s Justice Movement after their street protests and subsequent detention due to the blockade of the gates of girls’ schools in Dasht-e Barchi district of Kabul, yesterday.
The United Nations Deputy Secretary-General’s Office and Richard Bennett, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Afghanistan, had previously requested the immediate release of these individuals by Taliban.
