Targeted Assassinations Continue: Gunmen Kill Money Changer in Herat Province

Local sources in Herat report that a money changer in this province was killed by unknown gunmen.

The incident took place on Thursday, May 4, in the Mehr Herawi High School area of Herat City.

According to local sources, Haji Sinaiatullah Samandari had a money exchange shop in the Khurasan market of Herat.

Taliban security officials have not commented on the matter.

Recently, targeted assassinations of money changers in some provinces have caused concern.

Just last month, two money changers were killed by unknown gunmen in the provinces of Zabul and Khost. Following the recent events in Khost, money changers went on a three-day strike in protest of the insecurity in this province.
