In the first two days of the Meeting of the Clerics, the Taliban showed how afraid they are of appearing in public and how the heavy burden of running the country has shaken their courage. This fear was evident when the leaders and representatives of the Taliban chanted harsh slogans and insults and declared their readiness for more violence and “war until the Doomsday”.
There was no sign of self-confidence and hope for the future in the words of the Taliban. No one talked about construction and development programs, diplomatic relations, development of human capacities, strengthening the relationship between the government and the people, as well as the kind of society that the Taliban are supposed to build for the future of the country. They were not in the position of rulers, but in the face of a force accused and suspected by the patriots and the international community, they were busy justifying killing, retreat and tyranny. But since they themselves do not believe in those justifications, they resorted to two worn-out political threads. First, it seems that the Taliban are God’s representatives and God has given them this government. It was heard many times from the speakers and officials of the Taliban in this parliament that God has given this great blessing to religious scholars and they should not let it be lost. Second, the display of force and the possibilities of repression. They repeatedly mentioned the experience of killing and repression in the past and threatened to eliminate the opponents. Ansari, an extremist cleric from Herat said that the any opposition movement should be suppressed and whoever stands against the “Islamic Emirate” should be beheaded. Another acknowledged the killing of civilians and said that the group did not intend to kill the innocents and that the civilians were and are being killed for the sack of their association with infidels and Taliban opponents.
From the words of the Taliban leader, the so-called “infidels” was threatened and it was announced that the war will continue until the Day of Resurrection. But we know that the Taliban’s war is with internal opponents, not with foreign forces and “enemies”. In the past twenty years, the Taliban’s agreements and quarrels with foreign intelligence and those who are called “infidels” were the source of their survival. From Russia and China to Britain and America, they licked and repeatedly assured them that the Taliban is not their enemy and if they return to power, they will prevent the use of the country’s soil against the interests of the “infidels”. In the last years of America’s presence, the Taliban were busy butchering civilians at schools, on the roads, at stadiums, mosques, universities, and markets, but they did not shoot at foreign soldiers. Even today, the declaration of war till doomsday is a threat to the internal opposition and the fact that the Taliban group is ready to fight to the death to maintain power; otherwise, the group members have been and will be saluting and kissing the hand of the “infidels”.
Taliban leaders know that the path they have chosen will lead to people’s resistance. To avoid this confrontation, they do not know the art of administration and politics and do not have the capacity to respond to the needs of the people. Therefore, they resort to repression, the only tool they have, warning that they will fight until the doomsday.
But this confrontation will not continue until the Day of Resurrections. The life of a force that only knows how to pray and know nothing of governance is short. The history of Afghanistan has witnessed many of these painful vicissitudes. But none of the dagger bearers and neck breakers have resisted the people’s desire for liberation. The fight against tyranny will soon become widespread and it is hoped that voices of protest and fists of uprising will be raised from inside the houses and families of these oppressors.
The heads of the freedom fighters will not be cut off, and the future belongs to those who believe in legalism, consider elections and people’s votes as the benchmark of the government, and do not stand against the legitimate demands of the people with executioners and suicide bombers.
