Local sources in Nimruz have reported a devastating loss of three lives and injuries to seven others in the aftermath of two separate traffic accidents in the province.
According to reports on Thursday, December 7, a Vix-type car, owned by Taliban fighters, collided with a Land Cruiser on the Zaranj-Delaram highway. This incident resulted in the death of two Taliban fighters and injuries to five others, including four Taliban fighters. Sources indicate that the Taliban forces were en route from Zaranj city to the Delaram district at the time of the collision.
The condition of some of the injured individuals is reported to be critical.
Simultaneously, in the “Chiganai” area of Zaranj city this morning, another accident occurred when a car collided first with a rickshaw and then with a passenger car. This second incident resulted in one fatality and injuries to two others.
As of noon, the Taliban have not issued any comments or statements regarding these accidents.
These unfortunate events underscore the ongoing challenges of road safety in Nimruz, where most traffic incidents are attributed to a combination of drivers’ lack of caution and poor road conditions.
