Tragic Blast in Ghor Province Kills and Injures Children: Unexploded Mortar Shells Bring Danger and Sorrow

Local sources in Ghor Province have reported that a mortar shell explosion in the province has claimed the life of one child and injured two others.

Sources informed Hasht-e Subh that the incident occurred on Monday, June 12, in the “Ponba Gelmin” area of Firuzkuh city, the provincial center.

According to sources, one of the injured children is in critical condition.

The Taliban has also confirmed the occurrence of this event.

It is worth mentioning that approximately three months ago, two individuals were killed and injured due to a hawan shell explosion in Ghor.

The presence of mines and unexploded ordnance from decades of war remains a significant challenge for citizens in the country.

According to information, dozens of individuals, mostly children, become victims of mine explosions and other unexploded ordnance incidents every year.
