
Tragic Traffic Mishap Claims 24 Lives in Sar-e Pul Province
Local Taliban officials in Sar-e Pul Province reported that a tragic traffic accident has resulted in the loss of 24 lives, including 8 children and 12 women.
According to a Taliban press release, the incident occurred on Wednesday, June 7, along the route of Sayyad District in this province.
The press release stated that 8 children, 12 women, and 4 men lost their lives in the accident, while another woman sustained injuries.
The incident involved a passenger van that veered off the road and overturned on the route connecting the villages of “Alto” and “Khaja Yagana.”
The press release further mentioned that the bodies of the victims and one injured person have been transferred to a clinic in Sayyad District.
Similar incidents have previously occurred in various parts of the country, reportedly due to reckless driving and inadequate road conditions in Afghanistan.
