Violent Crime Surge in Bamiyan: Mother Killed, Man Found Beaten to Death

Local sources in Bamiyan province say that two separate incidents have occurred, with the body of a man who had been shot found after four days of disappearance, and in another incident, a young man killed his mother with a stone during a verbal altercation.

Sources reported on Saturday, 15 April, to the Hasht-e Subh that the body of a middle-aged man named Ali Juma, a resident of the Speich village of the Kohistanat district of Sar-e-Pul province, was found in the Baghlak village of the Yakawlang district of Bamiyan province, after being missing for about four days.

On the other hand, another source said that on April 7, a verbal altercation occurred between three members of a family, including a son, daughter, and mother, in the Zulij village of the Yakawlang Nomber-2 district of Bamiyan province, which resulted in the son throwing a stone towards his mother.

The source added, “The stone hit the head of the mother, injuring her. At that time, neighbors became aware of the incident and informed the district office, but the mother died before the medical team arrived, and the Taliban arrested the son on charges of killing his mother.”

Meanwhile, Abdul Saboor Farzana Sigani, the Taliban spokesman in Bamiyan, also confirmed these two incidents, saying that in the first incident, no one claims responsibility for the individual whose body was found, but investigations are underway.

According to him, the case of the young man who killed his mother with a stone has been handed over to the judicial authorities of the Taliban in this province.

It is worth noting that in the past two months, mysterious murders and criminal incidents have increased in Bamiyan’s center and districts.
