According to local sources in Nangarhar, a young girl has committed suicide in Jalalabad, the center of Nangarhar province.
A reliable local source, who did not want to be named, told Hasht-e Subh that the event occurred on Monday, in the Baghrami area of the seventh district of Jalalabad.
It is said that the body of the young girl was pulled out of the river near the Behsood Bridge last night.
The source stated that family disputes were the reason for the young girl’s suicide.
The Taliban in Nangarhar have not yet commented on the matter.
Most cases of suicide among young girls in eastern provinces of Afghanistan occur due to forced marriages. Approximately six months ago, another young girl committed suicide for this reason in Nangarhar.
