Local sources in Panjshir province confirm that 58 Taliban fighters have been killed as a result of fierce clashes against the National Resistance Front (NRF) forces in this province.
These Taliban rebels were killed in several areas of Panjshir province on Monday, August 15, according to sources.
Sources added that more than 12 other fighters have been injured so far.
The NRF forces also suffered casualties in the conflict, but the exact number is still unknown.
Taliban members have not yet provided details on the claims.
The previous day, Panjshir province was witness to fierce clashes against the Taliban.
According to reports, several villages and bases of the Taliban have been conquered by NRF forces and 40 Taliban fighters are captured as prisoners.
In a tweet, the Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, however, has rejected any armed fights in the province.
