About a week ago, the bodies of a woman and her granddaughter were found in the village of “Tangi Shadan” in Allahyar District, Ghor Province. Sources at the time reported that the woman had disappeared approximately two months prior during a night. In the latest developments, sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily that this woman was killed by individuals associated with the Taliban district governor in this district due to her possession of jewelry and one million Afghanis in cash. According to the sources, the woman was a widow living with her granddaughter in a remote village. When her relatives approached the Taliban office in Ferozkoh, the group’s governor reportedly stated that there was insufficient evidence and questioned why the woman was a widow and had not remarried.
Local sources in Allahyar District, Ghor Province, accused individuals linked to “Mawlawi Jaber,” the Taliban district governor, of the murder after the bodies of the 45-year-old woman and her granddaughter were discovered. They alleged that the local Taliban official moved the family of one of his associates, who lived near the woman’s house, to another village after the murder.
The name of the accused individual has not been mentioned in the report, but residents identified him as the primary suspect, stating that the bodies were found on his land and that he was the only neighbor of the 45-year-old woman and her granddaughter.
Local sources in Ghor province stated that the woman, named Seyed Mah, and her seven-year-old granddaughter, named Khurshid, were killed in the village of “Tangi Shadan” in Allahyar District, near the border of the provinces of Ghor and Badghis.
According to sources, she was killed on the night of the 5th of Ramadan (March 15, 2024) by armed individuals for her jewelry and one million Afghanis in cash.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily that the woman’s relatives, who lived in the village of Ab Garm, learned of the incident two days later and informed the Taliban.
The primary suspect, according to sources, is a man associated with Mawlawi Jaber, the Taliban district governor for Allahyar District. When locals attempted to search the neighbor’s house, the Taliban district governor and his soldiers prevented them. Faced with public anger, the Taliban official reportedly relocated the suspect’s family along with four others to the district center.
Sources emphasized that after this, residents searched for traces of the woman and her granddaughter and found “footprints” near the neighbor’s house. They brought the matter to the Taliban governor in Ferozkoh City.
The Taliban governor reportedly told the woman’s relatives, “Since we don’t have sufficient evidence, we cannot take any action. Additionally, why was the widow living alone and not remarrying?”
According to sources, the bodies of the woman and her granddaughter were found on the neighbor’s land. When the woman’s son, who was in Iran, learned of the incident and returned home, he discovered a depression in a corner of the neighbor’s land on June 6, 2024, after extensive searches, and then informed the residents.
Sources claim that locals immediately summoned Taliban officials, who retrieved the bodies from a pit and buried them in a cemetery. According to them, the case has now become clear, and the perpetrators have been identified, but the Taliban authorities in Ghor province have not taken any action to address the case.
The woman’s relatives are calling on the Taliban regime’s officials to address the case and prevent further threats to the lives and property of people from local officials, fighters, and their associates.
Meanwhile, according to local sources, an individual named “Mullah Hamidi Shumrughak,” a guard of the Taliban governor in Ghor province was killed two days ago while “sexually assaulting” a woman in Ferozkoh City, the provincial capital.
