The Taliban’s commission addressing the issues of migrants has announced that they have established bank accounts to collect aid for refugees returning from Pakistan.
In a statement released Thursday, November 2nd, the commission stated that these accounts had been opened to attract domestic and international assistance for returning refugees.
The commission further added that these accounts have been established in the Central Bank, under the management of this group, and with the collaboration of a private bank.
The commission’s message stated: “Anyone can provide assistance to fellow migrants through these accounts.”
This development comes as the Organization for the Protection of Children has declared that in the past six weeks, over 120,000 Afghan migrants have returned to the country from Pakistan with their children, as they had nothing waiting for them in Afghanistan.
According to reports, in the last 24 hours, more than 24,000 Afghan refugees have entered Afghanistan, solely through the Torkham border crossing.
