Officials from the Pakistani police have confirmed that an explosion in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country resulted in the death of at least five security force members, with 21 others sustaining injuries.
According to Dawn newspaper, the incident occurred on Friday, November 3, near a police patrol vehicle in the Ismail Khan Valley.
Mohammad Adnan, a police official in the province, verified the reported casualties resulting from the explosion.
The event was caused by a bomb blast, and as of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Pakistan, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, known as the stronghold of Pakistani Taliban fighters, has consistently witnessed such incidents.
Just two days ago, the Pakistani Taliban announced that they had carried out approximately 80 attacks on security forces’ positions in the country during the month of October.
