Kabul – The foreign ministers of neighboring countries of Afghanistan summit including Russia will be inaugurated in Tehran tomorrow on Wednesday, October (27). Taliban are not invited to the summit; however, they had earlier said that they would not participate in the summit.
The president of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, will inaugurate and address in the summit tomorrow, the Iranian foreign minister said.
“The foreign ministers of neighboring countries of Afghanistan summit will be held in person by the presence of six countries including Russia,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said in a news conference on Tuesday in Tehran.
According to him, the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan will participate in the summit in person; however, and the foreign ministers of China and Russia will join the meeting online. The representatives of the two countries will participate in the Foreign Ministry in person.
The ambassadors of the countries would also participate in the summit tomorrow, he added.
A few hours of the meeting would continue in the form of content, and that a statement would be made to reach a consensus among neighboring countries, Khatibzadeh said.
In addition, the United Nations General Secretary will post a message to the summit tomorrow, Saeed Khatibzadeh said.
“Tomorrow, the focus will be on fulfilling the will of the Afghan people and the future of this country. What the Afghan people expect from countries like the Islamic Republic of Iran is to help their will come true. Today, we host four million Afghans that most of them are elite that they talk to us, and present their expectations. The people of Afghanistan inside the country have the same voice,” he added.
The rulers of the country must have a hearing ear to listen to the will and request of the people of Afghanistan, and by this way, they could show themselves as responsible rulers, the Iranian spokesperson said.
Khatibzadeh indicated that the Taliban should form a stable and inclusive government so that all ethnicities could see themselves in the government.
Earlier, a summit of foreign ministers of neighboring countries without Russia was hosted by Pakistan online.
