The most common mental illness in the world is depression, which is caused by several factors. The prevalence and aggravation of depression causes loss of hope and motivation, it causes depression; and it can take to the point of committing suicide. There are other mental illnesses that are just as harmful, or sometimes more so; from anxiety to schizophrenia, etc., some of which have genetic or physiological roots, but are activated and aggravated by social disorders.
Since the Taliban takeover, Afghan citizens have been dealing with many psychological disorders, and the mental health of millions has been damaged. Previously, with Taliban suicide attacks, roadside bombings, assassinations of government employees and foreign institutions, and other acts of violence by this group, the collective psyche of the society had been severely damaged, and Afghanistan was among the most mentally affected countries in the world.
Another factor that multiplies people’s mental anxieties is social inequality and the spread of linguistic, ethnic, regional, religious, and descent discrimination; because this discrimination shows its harsh and nasty face in the way government offices serve, arrest suspects, dismiss employees, and many other areas of life. Inequality among citizens, wherever it is, is a source of anxiety and social unrest, and one of its consequences is the increase in mental disorders and mental illnesses.
The dominance of ideological currents that see the world through their own illusions can make life bitter for citizens in any country. Such currents are unable to see the realities of life and consider the hell they create for people to be heaven. They cannot see that millions of people are fleeing and permanently migrating from that country.
They are not intelligent enough to see why Turkey, Germany, and other countries have this; any Afghan citizen, including Taliban will flee that country, just as their own leaders send their children to Qatar and Dubai. Ideological enchantment destroys consciousness and intelligence so that whoever causes it are not immune from its damage. On the one hand, they are infatuated with living in free countries, and on the other hand, they wish to make these countries look like the ones they fled from or are fleeing from. Afghanistan is now caught in the grip of such a bewitched group. If the conditions were normal, many of the leaders of this group would have been sent to the hospitals, not ministries and government departments.
