Sources in Kabul city have reported that the Taliban have arrested two former government army officers in the country’s capital.
These individuals, named Muslim and Beryalai, were apprehended on Tuesday, May 23rd, in the second district of Kabul.
The detained individuals are brothers and originally hail from the village of Pojava in the Dara district of Panjshir province.
Although the motive behind the arrest of these two former military personnel remains unclear, sources indicate that they were engaged in “labor work” in Kabul and have no affiliation with any group.
The Taliban have not made any statements regarding this matter thus far.
It is worth noting that since coming into power, the Taliban have detained, imprisoned, and in some cases, killed hundreds of former government soldiers.
The Taliban have shown no accountability to any individuals or human rights organizations regarding such actions.
