Pakistani media reported that the government of Pakistan expelled at least 8,581 Afghan refugees from April 3rd to 13th. SAMAA TV reported on Sunday night, April 14, that among the newly expelled Afghan refugees from Pakistan, there are 3,127 men, 1,972 women, and 3,482 children. The report mentioned that the countries’ authorities returned 310 families of expelled refugees to Afghanistan using 287 vehicles.
According to information from this media outlet, Pakistan has expelled 535,940 refugees since the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees began. Despite repeated calls from international bodies to halt the forced expulsion of refugees from Pakistan, authorities in Islamabad have stated that this process continues.
This news follows earlier reports from The Guardian, stating that the Pakistani government is set to begin the second phase of expelling Afghan refugees from the country on April 15 (today). It is predicted that in this phase, at least 400,000 Afghan refugees will be expelled from Pakistan.
