Local sources have reported the detention of a Badakhshan merchant by Taliban intelligence forces in the city of Kunduz.
Informed sources revealed on Tuesday, January 23, that the apprehended individual is identified as Abdul Bashir.
According to reliable accounts, Abdul Bashir was taken into custody by the Taliban 14 days ago in the first district of Kunduz city.
Sources further disclose that he hails from the “Shahr-e Sabz” village in the Shaki district of Badakhshan province, and his family is currently in the dark about his well-being.
As of now, local Taliban officials have not provided any comments on the detention of Abdul Bashir.
It is essential to highlight that the detention and mistreatment of citizens by the Taliban is not a recent development, as they have been involved in such actions on multiple occasions in the past.
In a similar incident last December, the Taliban detained Nasir Roshan, the proprietor of the Roshan Plaza commercial complex in Mazar-i-Sharif and Kabul.
