Authorities in Pakistan have confirmed that a roadside mine explosion in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to 15 others.
According to a report from the Associated Press, the explosion took place on Thursday, March 21st, in the Dera-i Ismail Khan area.
Enayatullah, a Pakistani official, stated that the blast targeted a convoy of security forces.
While no group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion, similar incidents in the past have been attributed to the Taliban.
On February 5th, in the “Daraban” area of Dara-e Ismail Khan, also in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, an attack on a military base led to the deaths of at least 10 Pakistani police officers, with six others sustaining injuries.
