Local sources in Ghazni and Logar have reported that the Taliban publicly administered whipping sentences to four individuals in these provinces.
Sources from Ghazni report that on Wednesday, April 24, before noon, the Taliban administered lashes in the Dih Yak district of this province in public on three individuals accused of theft. According to the sources, two of these individuals received sentences of 39 lashes and two years of imprisonment, while another individual received a sentence of 35 lashes and one year and six months of imprisonment.
Meanwhile, sources from Logar province have also confirmed that the Taliban whipped a man in the Muhammed Agha district of this province on charges of extramarital affairs before noon today.
These actions coincide with Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban supreme leader, emphasizing the increase in executing whipping and stoning sentences in society.
The Taliban’s actions have consistently provoked both domestic and international reactions.
