Pete Hegseth, US Secretary of Defense, said that under the orders of President Donald Trump, the United States has launched the air operation “Epic Fury” against Iran.
Hegseth wrote on X on Saturday night, February 28, that this operation is the most lethal, complex, and precise air action in US history and is being carried out to counter Iran’s missile and nuclear threats.
He added that over the past fifty years, Iran has repeatedly targeted Americans and tried to acquire the world’s most powerful weapons, but it now faces the consequences of these actions.
The US defense secretary emphasized that Iran’s missiles will be destroyed, its missile production lines will be targeted, and Iran’s navy will also be dismantled.
He also stated that Iran will never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons.
Hegseth stressed that the Americans did not start this conflict, but they will end it, and anyone who threatens Americans anywhere in the world will be targeted by US actions.
