Local sources say that clashes between Juma Khan Fateh and Taliban fighters have resumed in several areas of Badakhshan.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, August 16, that the clashes had resumed in the Hil-Rama, Delwak, and Gasin areas.
According to the sources, heavy weapons, including “82mm cannons, ZK-383, DShK machine guns,” are being used in the clashes.
The sources have not provided further details about casualties or damage resulting from the clashes.
This comes as clashes and attacks between the Taliban and anti-Taliban fronts continue in Badakhshan.
Earlier, the Afghanistan Freedom Front also said that heavy clashes between its forces and the Taliban had begun the previous day in Zebak district of Badakhshan province and were still ongoing.
