
Members of “Unique Finance” company arrested in Herat
8 Subh, Kabul: Authoritative sources have reported the arrest of members of Unique Finance in Herat. A source, who did not wish to be named, told 8 Subh that they were arrested by the National Security Directorate on Sunday, January 31.
According to available information, at least six members of the company were arrested and their offices closed in the areas of Bakr Abad, Mostofiat, and the area of the former army corps. In recent years, thousands of people had invested millions of dollars to the company’s network in Herat, and much of the money went out of the country.
A delegation from the center of the country is said to have traveled to Herat to arrest the members.
Unique Finance started in Herat about four years ago, and its members claimed to obtains returns of $60 to $70 a month for every $1,000 invested. Each person would be rewarded for introducing new investing members, and would benefit from the payments made by the people they introduced.
In addition to Herat, Unique Finance was active in Farah, Kabul, Balkh, Kandahar, and several other provinces. Earlier, the Central Bank’s Central Branch and the Department of Trade and Industry in Herat had declared its activities illegal.
