Kabul – The United Nations Security Council has described the attack on Shia worshippers in a Mosque in Said Abad of Kunduz province as a brutal terrorist attack, calling on the Taliban to persecute the perpetrators and sponsors of the attack.
On Saturday, October 9, the UN Security Council condemned the attack of the Islamic State in Khurasan Province (IS-KP) on a Shia Mosque in the Saidabad of Kunduz which Killed and injured at least 350 civilians.
The UN Security Council described the attack as “brutal and cowardly”.
It is essential to hold accountable and bring to justice the operators, organizers, investors, and sponsors of such terrorist attacks anywhere and anytime, the UN Security Council stated.
The council has also demanded from all the UN members that they must act decisively against terrorism in the world in accordance with international laws.
“Terrorism, in any form, is a potential threat to the international peace and security,” US Security Council’s statement added.
The Islamic State in Khorasan Province (IS-KP) claimed the responsibility for the attack on a Shia Mosque in the Saidabad of Kunduz.
The Taliban has condemned the attack, adding that they would investigate the attack.
