Kabul – The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) has urged for serious and effective monitoring of aid to Afghanistan.
In a report published on Monday, April 11, SIGAR has urged that Afghanistan is facing its worst humanitarian crisis since the Taliban rebels have been in power, adding that the US humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan will continue to reduce the burden of the humanitarian crisis in the country.
It has further emphasized that US humanitarian assistance must be effectively monitored to ensure that they are not wasted.
Based on Hasht-e Subh’s findings, the distribution of international aid to needy people has been repeatedly violated by most local Taliban rebels in different provinces.
The interferences of the Taliban in the process of aid distribution have raised concerns for beneficiaries and aid agencies.
