In a recent development in Kabul, the Taliban have declared the execution of two individuals, citing charges of “abduction.”
According to Khalid Zadran, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s security command in Kabul, the incident occurred on Sunday night and was communicated via his statement on Monday, March 24th. Zadran outlined that the two individuals, labeled as “abductors,” were engaged in a confrontation with Taliban forces and subsequently met their demise.
He asserted that the deceased had initiated gunfire towards Taliban forces before being fatally shot.
The Taliban, however, have refrained from disclosing the identities of the individuals in question.
It is pertinent to highlight that various human rights organizations have consistently accused the Taliban of employing lethal force against both military adversaries and civilians, often under the pretext of charges such as “thief” and “abductor.”
This incident follows a pattern previously observed, notably the execution of two footballers on similar charges in Charikar.
