
Taliban Held Their First Cabinet Meeting
8am, Kabul: The first meeting of the Taliban Council of Ministers was chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy head of the Taliban cabinet, on Monday (October 4t).
According to the Afghan administrative office of the president, the meeting decided on the seized lands of the government. The Taliban Council of Ministers has instructed departments whose land has been usurped to take action to pursue the cases in accordance with the principles.
The Taliban Council of Ministers has also decided on the presence of gunmen affiliated with former government officials. The statement said that the existence of weapons and gunmen “disrupts public order, usurpation and illegal activities.”
To address these issues, a commission has been set up with representatives from the Ministries of Defense, Interior and the General Directorate of Intelligence.
The commission works on collecting weapons, disarming gunmen, distributing firearms licenses and, if necessary, possessing weapons.
The commission is chaired by Mullah Mohammad Fazel Akhund, Deputy Minister of National Defense. The deputies of the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of National Security are members of this commission.
The Taliban administration said that the meeting decided to start the construction of the suspended buildings by the municipality, start the process of distributing passports and activate inactive government offices.
New Appointments
At the same time, the Taliban government has announced new appointments, mostly in military positions.
According to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, Maulvi Abdul Kabir has been appointed political deputy prime minister.
Similarly, Mullah Abdul Majid Akhund was elected as the head of the martyrs and the disabled, and Mullah Abdul Raziq Akhund was elected as his deputy. Maulvi Sakhawallah has been appointed Deputy Minister of Education, Maulvi Shamsuddin Pahlawan has been appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Maulvi Matiullah has been appointed as the head of the Red Crescent, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi has been appointed Deputy Minister and Maulvi Abdul Rashid has been appointed as Kabul Municipality.
Also, Mawlawi Sardar Mohammad as the Head of the Southwestern Audit Office, Sheikh Mohammad Hanif as the Head of the Southeastern Intelligence Unit, Mullah Mohammad Ali Akhund as the Head of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Mawlawi Nasrullah Mati as the Head of Education and Personnel of the Ministry of Defense and Amir Khan Haqqani as Head of Construction Facilities and Properties of the Ministry of Defense.
In the new appointments, Mullah Mehrullah Hamad has been appointed as the Commander of Kandahar Army Corps, Mullah Wali Jan Hamza as Deputy Commander of Kandahar Army, Maulvi Hezbollah Afghan Qari Baryal as Chief of Staff of Kabul Army, Mawlawi Ataullah Omari as Commander of Mazar-e-Sharif Army, Mawlawi Amanuddin as Deputy Chief of Staff of Mazar-e-Sharif, Mullah Abdul Razzaq Faizullah as Deputy Commander of Herat Army Corps.
Also, Mullah Sharafuddin Taqi has been appointed as Commander of the Regiments Helmand Radwa, Mullah Mohibullah Nusrat as Deputy Commander of Helmand Army, Mullah Mohammad Khan invited as Chief of Staff of Helmand Army, Mullah Rahmatullah Mohammad as Commander of Kunduz Army, Qari Mohammad Ismail Turkmen Ibrahim has been appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Laghman Army, Mullah Abdul Rahman Mansour has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the Laghman Army, Qari Mohammad Ayub has been appointed as the Commander of the Paktia Army, Mullah Ruholamin has been appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Paktia Army and Mullah Ahmadullah Mubarak has been appointed as the Chief of Staff.
The men were named in a decree issued by Taliban leader Mullah Hubatullah Akhundzada.
